Tuesday evening

Karen continued to do well with her breathing. She was very tired today from a combination of breathing on her own and dialysis. They did sit her up in a chair for about an hour late this afternoon and she even ate a popsicle (the first thing she has eaten since having the breathing tube removed). She gave me a big smile and I am sure this tasted so good to her throat!

She is still not initiating any conversation but will respond by nodding her head or mouthing an answer. She is just so weak.

Please pray for a good nights rest after a long day and for strength!

Rusty

I hope it was a banana flavored popsicle!!! Her throat is probably very sore from the vent. I remember daddy's being that way. I'm sure it hurts to talk. Before you know it she will be chatting away again... Glad to hear that today was another good day for her. Take care. Hugs to all of you. Give a hug to the doggies, too. I know they are wondering where their mom is...
Love, Dobbie..

Woo hoo! What great news and a great report! I am so happy to know that Karen is doing well without the ventilator. The sitting up and the popsicle are just icing on the cake.

Thought of Karen today when I was grocery shopping this afternoon. Have a craving for cukes and vinegar. Karen is the only one I know that likes them more than I do. I know her throat would not fare well with the vinegar, so I'll eat double the cukes in her honor! ;)

Wish I were closer so I could help out, or pop in for a quick wink and visit, but know that I am thinking about you and am sending much love!
