Karen is Looking Great

We just got to see Karen and she really looks great! She is still very sleepy as you would expect but has answered questions and talked with us.

I also forgot to say in my last post that the surgeon said the kidney looks great and is already working. Sometimes it takes several days to get started but this one has not.

She will be in the recovery room for about 2 hours then moved to a room where they can monitor her closely. I may not post again tonight unless something changes.

Again, thanks for all the prayers!

Rusty, I have read back over the last two years your blogs! I thought I had it bad with all I have been through, but I think Karen has me beat even w/brain tumors. They were just go in and chop them off and sew me up and heal. Now I am facing something big I am seeing an MS neurologist next wk. but still that is handled with meds and rest. My surgeries weren't on the same problem over and over! I know how discouraging that must be and yet to read your writing!! I must say she got a prize with you! Just like I did with my Dennis. Not many men would stick around to go through what ya'll do and how you've had to pick up the slack. I am sure that you have extra gems in your crown that someday you will lay at Jesus' feet. You will deserve every one of them-many crowns for how special you are!

I am thrilled to hear of karen's progress, and of course I am not surprised. If she showed you the scriptures that I sent her last night, the Lord himself promised her life and healing. It was very, very special that group of scriptures. I couldn't believe it when I saw what I had opened to. The very verses God had given me the night before Dennis's heart surgery. He wasn't given a lot of chances to live. The surgeon told me how sick he was and tried to set my expectations low, but I told him that Dennis was the son of the most High God who was also a physician and that He would be in there assisting him. When he came out from Dennis' very successful surgery, he was shaking his head at me. he said it was picture perfect surgery. he couldn't get over it. And yes he had felt the Divine Presence there helping him. They were even able to repair the valve instead of using a pigs valve which was so much better. Shortly thereafter the man had a stroke and can no longer practice surgery. He teaches now, but I will always be grateful he was available for Dennis. That sounds like what has happened for Karen-getting her into Johns Hopkins! One of the best of the best!! I am going to copy and paste this on your own email site so that I know you get one of them. Give Karen a kiss for me. Let her know that all my BSF friends were praying too today as I made calls last night! God is so good! love Cindy
